Learn More +Your first appointment typically takes 60-90 minutes. We begin with a series of diagnostic tests, including visual acuity, eye pressure measurement, and OCT imaging. Your pupils will be dilated so the doctor can examine the internal structures of your eye. Bring your current glasses or contacts, a list of medications you take, your insurance card, and any previous eye care records if available. Because of dilation, your vision will be blurry for 2-3 hours afterward -- bring sunglasses and consider having someone drive you home.
West Boca Eye Center accepts most major medical insurance plans, including Medicare. Vision insurance (VSP, EyeMed) may apply for routine eye exams and eyewear. For surgical procedures like cataract surgery, medical insurance typically covers the procedure when deemed medically necessary. Premium IOL upgrades and elective procedures like LASIK are out-of-pocket. Our team will verify your benefits before your appointment and walk you through any expected costs. Call (561) 488-1001 with your insurance details and we can confirm coverage in advance.
